Through my experience and experience of others which I got from articles forums blogs etc I have made few observations that would definitely help you in growing your business.
Here is my observation:
- REDDIT allows users to discuss and vote on content that other users have submitted.
- Reddit count users credibility with “karma” points.
- Users get karma by their comments and links being up-voted by others in the community.
- If you spam post your unrelated content to Reddit, you are sure to get down-voted consistently by other users. This in turn means Reddit begins to limit how often you are able to submit content to the site.
- There are small communities called sub-Reddits that bring people of common interests together.
- REDDIT allows adding links from our own sites in different sections (categories), called subreddits.
- Here Users are free to rate upvote / downvote to each added link.
- Reddit show by ranking most popular content on the day.
- More voteup to your link ranked higher up in the ranking of the best and bring more visitors to your site.
- Reddit's algorithms checks out fake votes ups by checking up for same-IP votes.
- Reddit is most popular in Canada, USA & UK.
We have to know Reddit algorithm and to follow certain rules:
- Quality of the information released is number one rule.
- Before adding content, be sure which subreddit describe your link. Usually all rules are located on the right side.
- Links which are bad news or spam, users usually ignore or give them a negative rate, Moderators of subreddit can banned you.
- Do not add a lot of links. The system will automatically ban you or will forbid to post (like a spam control) for several hours or couple days. Naturally, when you make a new account, because your IP address is recorded, you will have restrictions to adding publication.
Promote blog through Reddit
1) Choose
the right category i.e. subreddit
- Each subreddit has its own personality and rules, so explore a bit before posting anything.
- Get up votes in right category.
2) Delete
posts that don’t do well.
- People using Reddit can look up your profile to see what you’ve posted.
- If you have many articles with many downvotes (particularly if they came from your site), they may be less likely to continue reading what you add.
3) Cross-post
Should be done carefully.
- If you have a post that does not fit in one category than post it to couple of categories that it can be connected with but we have to be careful of spamming.
- Never post same article in different category(“Parenting”, “Mommit”, and “Raising Kids”) on same day since many people read all those subreddits and they might start downvoting if they see the same thing multiple times
- However, if you have an article that would fit in both “Parenting” and “Blogging”, go for it and post it to both on the same day.
4) Comment
regularly
- The sure way to spot a spammer is when someone posts something from their blog and then never responds to comments the article receives.
- We need not respond to each and every comment since we can always ignore rude comments but we can always extend the conversation whenever possible hoping that people might upvote comments.
5) Add
things other than your own posts.
- We need not always post our site stuff but we can add questions too.
- Reddit suggests a 10 to 1 ratio – 10 of others’ material to one of your own.
3 components that help you ensure more & more visits from Reddit:
- High karma comments - the more positive rates for your comments, the more karma you have.
- To possess a trusted profile - old profiles always have priority when adding links
- High karma links - the more positive rates for your links, the more karma you have.
Other techniques:
- Share photos in subreddit anything from interesting pics to dogs cats etc and so you will received big karma links fast.
- Watch out for subreddits that are visited most, check which links get a high rate score and then try similar strategies.
- Post comments - helping each other is best strategy.
- Asking and answering in AskReddit subreddit will grow your karma of comments. Don’t ask for sake of asking i,e don’t ask stupid things. Be creative when asking questions.
- Don't posting more of 2-3 links per day (with delay 3-5 hours).
- We can try posting a link to the less visited subreddits.
- To be successful in Reddit, we have to write comments, post interesting links, and we will get more karma (positive feedback you get from others).
- To get Up vote Just create some entertaining content or a personal sob story, give it a catchy, inflammatory title, find the right sub, and post.
